Feeling a million bucks ⚡️ This was the first weekend I have had off in as long as I can remember! We started every day with a sleep in (that’s 7:30am in the Davo household), followed by a coastal bushwalk and a hearty home cooked breakfast 🍳 We have also cleaned every room of our house top to bottom, giving loads away to charity and clearing out things we haven’t used in the last 6 months (I’m basically a minimalist now 😉) Going into this week ahead well rested and with clear house & mind ✨
I am LOVING having a reformer at home 🙌🏼 it’s so nice to be able to just head out to the garage and have some time, sweating it out by myself in the comfort of my own home ✨ Walking and Pilates every day has my body feeling good and is helping to counteract sitting at a desk all day.. how did you move today??
Today’s Iso activity... making the most of the sunshine on a 10km bushwalk away from any crowds 🍃I am really making an effort to move my body mindfully during this time. It’s very easy to sit in front of the computer all day working from home, so I have been making sure I wear my Apple Watch every day to get in 10,000 steps (even if that means walking around the courtyard on conference calls). Whilst this is such a hard time for so many people, especially our small businesses, I hope at the end of all of this we remember the slow time without rushing, the importance of connection with family and friends, how important it is to move our bodies every day and the appreciation that all we need is what we have with us right now and a little kindness ✨✨✨
I’m choosing to respond with kindness, care and compassion. Spending my time checking on people with a text, a FaceTime or even just a silly meme, spending my time working long hours to do all I can to make even the smallest difference to supporting businesses in my corporate work, spending my time relishing in having Liam here with me every day, spending my time being kind to myself by moving my body in a way that it needs 💫 My nan always used to say kindness and manners are the only things still free in the world and now more than ever I am holding that dear to my heart 🤍
Movement for the mind ✨
In my view there is nothing better than Pilates for both the mind and body! In these uncertain and stressful times, movement can help give us a routine, a purpose, help us breathe properly to calm the nervous system and not to mention release some endorphins! This week I am committing to doing my @fluidformpilates at home every single morning as soon as I wake up so there is nothing that gets in my way! How are you going to get some movement in this week?? Ps how good is @camillaandmarc new activewear 🙌🏼
W O R K I N G | F R O M | H O M E 💻
I’m fortunate enough to work for an organisation that always allows for flexible working and over the past week and a half I have been working from home full time due to our split workforce in response to coronavirus 🦠 I absolutely miserably failed to keep any sort of routine at the start, working from 6am until very late in the night with barely a break and definitely no exercise! So.. what have I learnt over this week to help ensure I’m looking after myself while working from home and doing long hours??? 1. Start my day with a walk and a coffee before even looking at my emails to get myself in the right frame of mind
2. Eat meals away from my desk to have a mental break and allow for better digestion
3. Take conference calls while walking laps of the oval or around the block to get some extra Vitamin D and steps in
4. Make sure you are staying in touch with FaceTime or calls to team, friends and family to maintain a sense of connection
5. Have a specified end time to walk away from the computer, do some exercise and have dinner (even if that means logging back on afterwards)
6. Try and have some down time before bed to get a good sleep (I have failed at this one due to late finishes BUT... I’m working on it 😉)
These are just some things that have worked for me, I’d love to hear any other tips people have!! In the mean time stay safe, healthy, connected and continue to support our small businesses 💗
#eachforequal Here’s to celebrating both the amazing women in our lives on #iwd2020 and also the men, who lift us up, support us and help us be the best, strongest versions of ourselves! @liamdavo1 thank you for always backing and supporting me and doing the things that need to get done around the house while I’m working on the weekends! Thank you for exemplifying what an equal partnership is and standing beside me as we both drive our goals forward! I am so grateful 🙌🏼
Saturday Sweat Sesh 💦💦💦 Just what the Dr ordered.. Boxing, Sauna and catchups with my girl @unit_nine
Today’s Pilates flow... I LOVE experimenting with different ways to move the body and use the equipment 🙌🏼 This box at the back sequence was such a good mid/upper back and glute burn ⚡️⚡️⚡️
